About Vendaru

Vendaru is a peer-to-peer courier marketplace covering the UK [OWNER TO CONFIRM: whether Northern Ireland and island destinations are covered]. A customer posts where a parcel needs to go and sees the price before posting. The price is based on the real road distance between the two addresses. An independent courier then accepts the job and carries the parcel from pickup to drop-off.

Vendaru provides the platform that connects customers and couriers. We are not a courier company, and couriers are independent people who choose which jobs to accept.

How it works

1. Post a job

Enter a pickup address, a drop-off address and a pickup time (or "now"). The price is £3.50 plus £1.37 per road mile, with a minimum of £5.00. It is shown before you post and stays fixed once you do.

2. A courier accepts

Couriers registered with Vendaru see open jobs and accept the ones they can do. They see the town and postcode of each end, a map pin that lands in the postcode rather than on the door, and the road route between them. They see the full addresses only once they accept. We can't promise that a courier will be nearby or how fast one will accept.

3. Proof at both ends

The courier photographs the parcel at pickup and again at delivery, so both sides can see it happened. You can chat with the courier while the job is active.

4. Follow it live

Every job moves through Open, Accepted, Collected and Delivered. While the courier is on the way you can see their position on the map, and share a limited tracking link with the person receiving the parcel.

Two kinds of account

Register as a customer to send parcels, or as a courier to earn by delivering them. Addresses are looked up with OpenStreetMap-based services and priced on the real road distance from a routing service. If an address can't be found, we ask you to check it rather than guess.

Paying

There is no card processing yet. Payment is tracked in the app and settled manually (the instructions are shown in the app) [OWNER TO CONFIRM: payment details]. Refunds are settled manually too. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Safety and trust

Proof photos at pickup and delivery, and a chat for each job.
Couriers agree to share location while on a job. See the Location Tracking Policy.
A list of items that can't be sent.
Rate limits and sign-in lockouts to protect accounts, and suspension of accounts that break the rules.

Emergency? If someone is in danger, call 999. Vendaru can't respond to emergencies.
